What does time make possible here that a still image could not hold?
Begin with the image, then return to the label, material, scale, duration, and collection context. The work becomes clearer as these clues begin to connect.
Look With This WorkA body crossing the line of danger
In an empty factory space, Li Binyuan straddles a line of fire. The action is direct and tense. Fire becomes a boundary, an obstacle, and a test of distance. By placing his body against this line, the artist turns space into a question of risk, control, and transgression.
